“Cuvées and Curves”

SEPTEMBER 7 – 12, 2013

The route is traced, the hotels are booked, the vines are resting, and the wines are maturing.

The 2013 Going To The Sun Rally marks a return to the mountains and a journey to brand new territory – the Okanagan Wine Valley in British Columbia, known as The Napa of the North. GTTSR veterans sampled the route together this past summer and say it is phenomenal!

We’ll all gather on September 7th, at the Kandahar Lodge in Whitefish, Montana, for the opening dinner ceremony.

Sunday, September 8th takes us from Whitefish, Montana, down the Better Than Sex Highway to Libby for a picnic lunch and car show with the Igniters Car Club, the oldest car club in Montana, celebrating its 52nd year. This has become a Rally tradition whenever we go through Libby, and is always one of the most enjoyable and memorable events of the Rally. Pure Americana! Then on to Sandpoint, ID, on the shores of Lake Pend Orielle.

Monday we cross the North Coast and enter Canada for a two-night stay at The Cove Lakeside Resort on Lake Okanagan near Kelowna.

Tuesday we’ll tour the beautiful Lake Okanagan wine country, visit some hand picked wineries and enjoy a special Canadian Celebration gourmet dinner with wine maker selected wine pairings.

Wednesday is a winding, waterside journey through the mountains of British Columbia, arriving at the town of Nelson, and the Prestige Lakeview Inn.

We’ll wrap up our rally on September 12th with a beautiful drive back to Whitefish for our closing awards banquet.

If you like beautiful cars, beautiful roads, great people, and great wine, do not miss this rally!
